Our showroom has one of the widest ranges of telescopes from different manufacturers in the country

Greenwich Observatory Limited was founded by former staff of the Royal Greenwich Observatory to provide equipment and services to the astronomy community.

The company caters for both professional and amateur astronomers, as well as anyone else with an interest in the subject. We offer a service to teachers, we stock and sell high quality equipment and we work on large international projects.

At our Cambridge base we provide a meeting point where the professional and amateur astronomy worlds overlap. We offer a warm welcome to anyone who wants to drop in for advice, to buy a telescope or just for a chat.

We pride ourselves on our friendly service and seek to ensure that all our customers are fully satisfied. In particular, we recognise the need to provide first-time buyers with reliable advice and after-sales support to ensure they get the most from their purchase. The right telescope is the one that gets used, not left in the cupboard, and we promise to do our best to ensure you enjoy astronomy.

Meet the Staff

	Wendy Baker is our Office Manager and is one of the friendly voices you are likely to hear when you call Green Witch. Wendy looks after the Internet Orders as well as keeping the rest of the staff in line. In case you can't read the mug it says "I never gossip in the office - I network".
Lucy Parker has joined the team to look after advertising and marketing. She has a background in retail management and works mainly from home. Occasionally you will see her in the showroom, especially at our events when everyone joins in.
	Lucy's Hen Party was held on Saturday 18th June 2005. Here is the party getting ready to leave for the Yim Hah Chinese Restaurant at Caxton Gibbet in Mick Ward's bus. More pictures...
Neil Parker is one of the co-founder's of Green Witch and is currently the Managing Director. His background is in the world of professional astronomy where he was Deputy Director of the Royal Greenwich Observatory and Head of its Technology Division. He still carries out consultancy work on large telescope projects and is available to advise on observatories and their equipment.
	John Ruddick has a strong technical background in optical engineering and handles most of our repairs. He is also a binocular specialist and can advise on choosing the binoculars that are right for the person and right for the job. John also operates a small machine shop enabling us to manufacture parts and accessories for customers.
Lee Sproats is a professional astronomer by training but an ardent amateur at heart. He has a wealth of knowledge, both of astronomy and of the equipment we sell. He is always happy to provide help and advice. And he's much more friendly than his photo!
	Lesley Vertue worked at the Royal Greenwich Observatory during its time in Cambridge and was involved in several aspects of promoting astronomy and the work of the RGO to the wider public. She co-founded Green Witch with Neil but has now retired and taken more of a back seat. However, she still maintains a keen interest in the company and will be seen from time to time in the showroom, helping out in her usual friendly manner.
