We get involved in a wide range of events such as talks at schools and amateur astronomy clubs, special trade days, star parties and observing trips. Here's a list of the things we did in the 2001. Saturday, 1st December 2001 Astronomy for Intermediates
A one-day course intended for people with basic knowledge of astronomy who would like to learn more. Ideal for those who have attended our 'Astronomy for Absolute Beginners' course. Please contact us for further details.
November 2001
- Wednesday, 28th November 2001 Talk by Neil at Bedford Astronomical Society
Our visit to Birr Castle and the Leviathon, plus a demonstration of the LX90.
- Wednesday, 14th November 2001 Star Party at Cherry Trees School, Risby
We were very lucky with the weather, so following a short introduction to what was visible in the sky we all went out into the playground for an hour's observing. Having been told to look for the Summer Triangle the children were finding triangles all over the sky. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and the hot soup was most welcome.

- Thursday, 1st November 2001 Talk by Neil at Peterborough Astronomical Society
Neil gave a talk on the Isaac Newton Group of Telescopes and Lesley took along a selection of books. A very pleasent evening with a friendly group of people.

Thursday, 1st November 2001 Green Witch's Third Birthday
We celebrated with a birthday discount for all purchases made on the day.

Wednesday, 31st October 2001 Halloween Star Party (and Full Moon)
40+ people came to Green Witch for a short talk and a couple of observing sessions. We used a range of telescopes to look at the Moon, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter.

- Sunday, 30th September 2001 Annual RGO Society Reunion, Herstmonceux
Second annual reunion of the RGO Society.

14th-16th September 2001 16th Whirlpool Star Party
Lesley and I attended the Whirlpool Star Party at Birr in Ireland and observed with Lord Rosse's newly-restored 72-inch Leviathan. An account of our visit is available here.
June 2001
- Tuesday, 12th June 2001 Meeting with Meade Vice-President
Mark Peterson, the Meade Vice-President responsible for finance and international sales, met a small group of Advanced Product Dealers including Green Witch during his European visit.

Saturday, 2nd June 2001 SAGAS Annual Summer Meeting
We had a trade stand at this well-attended one-day astronomy meeting. The talks were good and we recommend it to you.
May 2001
- 25th-31st May 2001 Visit to COAA
Neil called in to see the people at the Algarve Astronomy Centre. More details of this family-run centre in a popular holiday area are given on their web site.

Green Witch set up a display of telescopes at the public lecture held during NAM 2001 in Cambridge.

Thursday, 8th March 2001 Astronomy Evening, Queen Edith Primary School
As part of the school's science week Neil gave a talk to a packed hall and Lesley set up a display of books etc. Unfortunately, the clouds didn't break up until the end of the event but a few people who stayed late were shown views of Jupiter and Saturn.

2nd, 3rd February 2001 Astrofest
Billed as Europes leading astronomy exhibition. Green Witch was there to help Tom Ryan on the House of Optics stand and to meet old friends.
