Small size and lighter weight permit use of lighter-duty tripods for easy field carrying and transportation. The padded shoulder bag provides protection and room for the scope and six eyepieces.

The successor to the Tele Vue-101 - The NP-101 (Nagler-Petzval) is more compact with the same 4-element, 540mm, f/5.4 specifications. The new scope is 4" shorter and features both optical and mechanical enhancements over the previous model.

The new Tele Vue-102 is a 4-inch, 2-element f/8.6 APO air-spaced doublet, similar in aperture to the 4-element f/5.4 Tele Vue NP-101. The Tele Vue-102 achieves similar diffraction limited, high power viewing as it's 4" sibling, along with a wide 3 degree maximum visual field (compared to 4.9 degrees for the Tele Vue NP-101).

Like all refractors without a rear lens group (as built into the Tele Vue NP-101) a field flattener is needed for photography of star fields. However, a dedicated 0.8x reducer/flattener is available, to permit great astrophotography at f/6.9 with the Tele Vue-102.

The Tele Vue-102 is offered as an O.T.A., since you may already own a 2" diagonal and adapter as well as an eyepiece collection and mounting rings. All of these items are available separately.

With the Tele Vue-102 we offer the amateur a simpler, less expensive, 4" refractor which retains Tele Vue's core values, outstanding optical performance and superb mechanical quality.

Comes complete with hard-shell carry case.
