Bruce's description of himself is given below but don't be deceived by his modesty. He has a string of commissions, books, and TV series to his name and his work is avidly collected by many people. He specialises in capturing the essence of an animal's interaction with its environment, and succeeds in helping us feel part of their world.
Apart from a busy schedule meeting deadlines for exhibitions and commissions, Bruce was also president of the Society for Wildlife Artists for ten years, helping it stage a series of very successful exhibitions at the Mall Galleries. At his final exhibition the actress Hannah Gordon, who is a keen admirer and collector, paid tribute to his outstanding work.
His pictures are a delight to own and a sound investment.

Obsessed by the natural world, I work when the opportunities arise out in the wild where wildlife and landscape, and sometimes people, interact creating powerful images and dramatic themes that reflect my fascination, and our relationship with nature. Sometimes paintings are completed directly in the field; other times the day might end with a collection of sketches, drawings, and ideas in various states of suspension - providing plenty of raw-material to develop later in the studio.
As an artist over the past 27 years, I have been able to travel in search of subjects from the Arctic and Antarctica, to Africa, much of Europe, the Caribbean and North America. However, most of my time is spent in East Anglia, either working out in the field or in my Cambridgeshire studio.
