AC602 The Polar Mate Ref: BCF-AC602
Precise Polar finder for all equatorial wedges
At last a quick and precise system to polar-align equatorial wedges’. A high-precision CNC-machined attachment block milled from solid aluminium, the Polarmate fits precisely to the top of the wedge’s tilt plate and carries a miniature polar scope that can be set to the local overhead right ascension (RA) angle. The small polar scope, which is equipped with a comfortable rubber eyecup, has a fine reticule that shows the location of Polaris relative to the north celestial pole. The Polarmate delivers precise and repeatable polar alignment literally in seconds.
Far more precise and immediate than the electronic methods provided on the telescope handset, the Polarmate does away with the need for repeated running of firmware-based polar alignment routines. Use the included quick reference chart to quickly estimate the overhead RA hour (or use your favourite planetarium program to give this number) and simply set the hour angle on the Polarmate’s RA index. Then adjust the wedge in altitude and azimuth until Polaris appears in the circle displayed in the alignment scope. Remove the Polarmate and attach your telescope and it’s done - simple, precise, and quick.
To illuminate the reticule, a night vision-saving red LED hand-held illuminator is included. The Polarmate is ideal for setting up your equatorial wedge for critical astrophotography work and enables you to achieve very accurate equatorial alignment to observatory standard in seconds. Fits Meade Standard and Super Wedges, and our own MegaWedge and MegaWedge Pro as well as the GigaWedge for the 16” LX200. The Polarmate requires no tools and fits with the aid of a single thumb knob. Full instructions included.

AC610 Supreme 2x Apo Photo-Visual Barlow Ref: BCF-AC610
No other Barlow looks like the Supreme or functions like it.
The optics are manufactured in Japan by one of the world’s most respected lens makers. For our flagship 2x Apo model (AC610 - GOLD TOP) the optical system was designed without compromise. The three-element design offers truly superb performance with a stunning 27mm clear aperture (we physically could not make the clear aperture any greater for fear of the barrel being too delicate and thin).
The edge-blackened optics, full multi-coating on all surfaces, and baffling inside the barrel ensure that the SPVx23e (Gold Top) has a peerless level of image sharpness and contrast. Unlike most other Barlow/amplification lenses, the Supreme does not use the usual cross screw fastener to hold the eyepiece in place - instead a sleek locking collar is rotated to lock the eyepiece in a perfect central position.
Simply unscrew the lock ring to expose a full sized male T-thread that allows all standard digital and 35mm T-thread adaptor rings to be screwed into position! The combined lock ring and T-thread is a true killer feature - but with their functional elegance of execution, the Supreme Barlows are arguably the finest 2x barlow in the world!

AC615 1.25" Polarising Star Diagonal Ref: BCF-AC615
A quality mirror-based star diagonal with a built-in secret! Rotating crossed polarising filters are a great way to attenuate image brightness when observing the Moon or other bright targets, and for studying double stars. However, the standard rotating mount filter has some drawbacks in that the eyepiece must be removed each time the observer wishes to make an adjustment. Other solutions have offered an extension barrel with a filter that can be adjusted without removing the eyepiece. However, this solution has the drawback of using up in-focus travel to accommodate the new barrel, and on some instruments this simply does not work.
Our new polarising star diagonal solves these problems. The system comprises a quality machined low-profile mirror-based star-diagonal with a polarising filter fitted to the nosepiece. The second polarising filter is attached to the nosepiece of the chosen eyepiece. To operate the brightness control effect simply rotate the eyepiece while viewing! The brightness control ranges from 1 to 40%.
Contents: 1x 1.25” Star diagonal, 2x 1.25” polarising filters. The polarising filter fitted to the star-diagonal can simply be unscrewed if its removal is required to free the diagonal for general use.

AC624 Low Profile Webcam Adaptor Ref: BCF-AC624
Like our standard AC378 (see below) this ultra low-profile adaptor allows most popular webcams, like the Philips ToUcam Pro I and II, to be attached to standard 1.25" eyepiece holders. The big difference is the overall length of the adaptor and the absence of a rear lip at the base of the nosepiece. We’ve made the adaptor as short as possible to make sure that it will work with the increasing number of imaging situations that require a low-profile nosepiece on the webcam, to cope with minimum in-focus motion and other limitations of the telescope focuser. This adaptor is ideally suited for imaging with instruments with limited inward focuser travel. As you’d expect, the nosepiece works just fine on telescopes that do not suffer from limited in-focus travel as well! Fitting couldn’t be simpler - just unscrew the lens from the webcam and screw in the adaptor. Even though it’s ultra-short, the nosepiece is fully threaded for standard 1.25” filters and turned with internal stepping to combat stray light. Precision CNC- manufactured from black Delrin.>

AC635 SolarVue 2 solar observing 2 diagonal Ref: BCF-AC635
The SolarVue 2 solar observing 2” diagonal. Observe the REAL sun in safety with our new Herschel wedge observing system - the ultimate way to observe and photograph the sun with refracting telescopes
The SolarVue 2, when used with a good quality refracting telescope, provides the finest natural white-light views of the sun obtainable. The Herschel wedge diagonal gives safe full-aperture solar views without the artificial colour and image deterioration associated with solar filters. Even all thin metalised plastic (eg Mylar et al) film filters come a poor second to our direct full-colour viewing method. The system relies on a precision-ground 2” wedge-shaped prism (of our own design and manufactured entirely in Britain) to actually form the viewable image and thus relies on a principle that is almost as old as the telescope. Perfect for photography: the SolarVue 2 permits full-aperture photography using cameras as large as medium format film size. The SolarVue 2 comes complete with a double-element 2” polarising filter unit for precise and comfortable image brightness control, and is packaged in a handsome and functional black foam-lined attaché style ABS storage case. The SolarVue 2 solar observing diagonal can only be used with refracting telescopes with a 2” eyepiece holder - we further suggest that its use should be limited to telescopes of an all-metal design only. In contrast to objective-fitting solar filters, the SolarVue 2 Herschel wedge does not restrict or absorb any of the visual wavelengths of light passing through it and thus provides a pure, natural true-colour white light view limited in detail virtually only by the quality of the optics of the telescope. An innovative light baffle is incorporated into the SolarVue 2 to increase viewing contrast by allowing less light back into the eyepiece from the open exhaust side of the diagonal. This baffle can easily be removed if required.
Here are just some of the great features of the SolarVue 2 Solar wedge diagonal:
- Simple, safe high-performance design
- Ideal for photographic and visual use
- Passes a broad spectrum, allowing other filters to be usefully employed
- Precise polarising filter-based brightness attenuation - allows the widest range of eyepieces and accessory equipment to be used
- Fits all quality (all-metal recommended) refractors fitted with 2” eyepiece holders

AC645 Polarising 1.25 filter Ref: BCF-AC645
A simple ND polarising filter to reveal more detail and improve contrast in Ha solar observation with Coronado and other Ha telescopes
This simple polarising filter will do much to improve the solar disc detail seen with hydrogen alpha (Ha)-based solar observing telescopes. The filter simply screws to the barrel of any 1.25” eyepiece. The eyepiece is inserted into the eyepiece holder as usual, and because the Ha filter systems cause the light reaching the eyepiece to be polarised, all that is required to alter the contrast of the disc features is simple rotation of the eyepiece in the holder. The filter can improve display of detail on the solar disc by as much as 20%. The filter is not generally effective at improving the contrast of limb detail. The filter works with all apertures of Coronado filter unit and telescopes, and is particularly useful when used with the Coronado Personal Solar Telescope (PST). The filter is supplied in a foam-lined dust-proof case.

AC647 Basic rear-port eyepiece holder and T-mount camera adaptor Ref: BCF-AC647
Simple adaptor to allow you to attach eyepieces and SLR cameras to the rear port of your ETX90, 105, and 125
Our new ETX camera adaptor is a simply great way to attach 35mm SLR and DSLR (digital SLR) cameras to the rear port of the Meade ETX 90, 105 and 125 telescopes. The adaptor also allows eyepieces to be attached to the rear of the ETX for “straight through” viewing. The adaptor has a male T-thread to allow the user to attach a standard T ring for the particular brand of camera to be used. Camera rotation and positioning can be achieved after slackening the three screws on the T-mount ring. When combined with the AC330 extension tube (shown below), the unit becomes a combination eyepiece projection camera adaptor that can be used to hold an eyepiece in the imaging pathway to achieve higher magnification images (of planets, lunar craters etc). The adaptor is CNC-machined from aircraft-grade aluminium and has a hard-wearing black anodised finish.
