A compact simple supplementary lens barrel that boosts magnification and image scale by 1.6x.
The Magni-Max 1.6x supplementary lens unit threads directly onto the nosepiece of the DigimaxT 40 AC520 eyepiece system (and any other 1.25” eyepiece equipped with a standard filter thread) and increases the magnification by effectively reducing the focal length of the eyepiece by around 60%. In the case of the DigimaxT 40mm that’s a reduction down to 24mm! The Magni-Max gives a magnification power boost of around 1.6x but fully preserves the vignette reducing and camera positioning features of the DigimaxT 40. The Magni-Max has many uses and performs as brilliantly visually as it does photographically. The Magni-Max can be fitted to camera (webcams, video camera etc) nosepieces and delivers the same 60% magnification increase. One of the great benefits of the Magni-Max is that, unlike conventional Barlow lenses, it delivers a powerful magnification boost but only increases the length of the camera or eyepiece nosepiece by 12mm! The Magni-Max supplementary lens system is a twin lens cemented construction and is fully anti-reflection multi-coated. Supplied in a dust and shock proof case.

The MinVB filter is one of the best ways of improving the resolution and contrast of achromatic refracting telescopes. The blue and violet halos commonly seen around bright objects can be a significant problem with popular refractors. Our anti-fringing filter will minimise this effect and introduce the minimum amount of colour bias (yellow). Simply screw the filter to the front of your eyepiece, and the result is better planetary definition (especially noticeable when viewing Jupiter) and generally enhanced contrast and colour definition. This high-quality “hot mirror” infrared and ultraviolet blocking filter is designed for use with modern webcam and CCD imaging cameras. If you use a webcam with almost any telescope except a well-corrected Newtonian, you are likely to encounter halos around stars and a problem often referred to as “fuzzy focus”. This happens because any telescope that employs any form of lens in the light path is unable to bring the whole light spectrum to a single well-defined focus. The UV and IR parts of the spectrum will be brought to different focus points to the rest of the spectrum, hence the loss of resolution and halo effects.
The IR block filter passes 88% average of the visible bandwidth - 400nm to 700nm - whilst blocking 98% average of the bandwidth in the range 750nm to 1150nm. The AC582 also blocks near UV energy. Supplied in a shockproof plastic storage case.
