The HERCULES is a robust observatory that has become a firm favourite with both amateur and professional astronomers alike. It has been supplied to a variety of customers including a number of schools and universities all over the country.

The HERCULES is currently the largest Sky Dome Observatory with an external dome diameter of approx 2.7 m (9 ft). It offers the advantage of a sliding hatch with a secure locking mechanism. The dome is securely located on a rotation ring that is formed by the wall structure. It rotates freely and is held centrally by a combination of guide and thrust rollers. The dome is easy to rotate by hand but has been designedl not blow around in the wind.

Security of your equipment is very important, so Sky Domes fit an internally mounted five lever mortise lock and brass butt hinges as standard, just as they do on the CASSIOPEIA.

The HERCULES observatory is spacious enough to accommodate a wide range of telescopes and two astronomers comfortably.
